TOTO THP5636#PBR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the Toto THP5636#PBR part?
It's the slide bar pipe itself, a Toto replacement component for a shower slide bar assembly, not the complete bar kit with holder and hand shower. Order it under part number THP5636#PBR when the bar tube is what you need to replace.
2) I need a Toto shower slide bar replacement tube - what number do I give my supplier?
Give them Toto THP5636#PBR. The #PBR suffix is Toto's finish code on the part number, so quoting the full string gets you the right finish on the pipe rather than a mismatched one.
3) Can the Toto slide bar pipe THP5636#PBR be used in a tub/shower combination, or only a shower?
Both. Toto lists the application for this slide bar pipe as shower and tub, so it suits a tub/shower valve setup with a hand shower as well as a standalone shower.
4) Does the THP5636#PBR slide bar pipe come with mounting brackets or a hand shower holder?
No. This is the pipe only. If your brackets, wall flanges, or the sliding holder are damaged or missing, those are separate Toto service parts and have to be ordered on their own part numbers.
5) Will a generic shower slide bar work instead of the Toto THP5636#PBR?
Treat it as a Toto-specific service part. The pipe has to match the brackets and the sliding holder already on the wall, and that geometry is particular to the Toto assembly it was built for. If you want a different bar, replace the full assembly rather than mixing a generic tube into Toto brackets.
