TOTO THP5467#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO THP5467#CP?
It's a TOTO thermostatic mixing valve trim with a diverter and an ADA-style handle, for shower and tub installations. Order code is THP5467#CP, where TOTO's #CP suffix designates polished chrome.
2) Does the THP5467#CP thermostatic valve include the diverter, or do I order that separately?
The diverter is part of the THP5467#CP assembly, so one order code covers the thermostatic mix control and the diverter that switches flow between outlets, such as a tub spout and a showerhead.
3) Will the THP5467#CP handle work for an ADA-compliant shower control?
The handle on the THP5467#CP is TOTO's ADA-style lever, which is the one specified where the control has to be operable without tight grasping or twisting of the wrist. That's the handle style facility and multi-family specifiers are usually after on a thermostatic shower valve.
4) I'm standardizing shower valves across a building in chrome. Is this the chrome option?
Yes, polished chrome. TOTO codes finish at the end of the part number, and the #CP on THP5467#CP is the polished chrome suffix, so repeat orders of THP5467#CP will match across openings.
5) Can I use a thermostatic valve like the THP5467 instead of a pressure-balancing shower valve?
They solve different problems. A pressure-balancing valve only reacts to pressure swings, such as a toilet flushing on the same line. A thermostatic valve such as the THP5467 holds the mixed outlet temperature itself, which is what gets specified in hotels, healthcare and multi-family where scald protection and a repeatable set temperature matter. With the diverter built in, the THP5467 also handles a tub-and-shower combination off one control.
