Installation & Operation

  1. Review manufacturer specifications and verify door preparation requirements including door thickness (1" to 1-1/4") and wood frame construction compatibility.
  2. Use manufacturer-provided templates to mark mounting hole locations accurately on door and frame surfaces for through-bolt installation.
  3. Prepare door and frame by drilling required holes for the 1/2" x 4" x 1-19/32" case and routing as specified in manufacturer instructions.
  4. Install through-bolts to secure the case, inside 1004 Turn Lever, and outside 1016 Blank Plate escutcheon per manufacturer torque specifications.
  5. Adjust hookbolt throw using the screw in the faceplate to achieve proper engagement with the 4810 Box Strike for wood.
  6. Test 45° rotation of 1004 Turn Lever to verify proper bolt projection and retraction, and confirm self-protecting operation when door closes with bolt extended. Refer to manufacturer documentation for complete installation details and troubleshooting.
