1) Will the Adams Rite 4800 Series strike work with my MS1847 sliding door deadlock?
That's exactly what the 4800 Series is built around. These strikes finish and reinforce the strike cutout in the jamb for mortised MS1847 Deadlock/Deadlatch systems on sliding doors. If you're running a different Adams Rite lock family, or a swinging door device, this is the wrong strike.
2) What is Dimension A on the Adams Rite 4800 strike and which one do I order?
Dimension A is the shim thickness that sets how far the strike sits horizontally, so it matches your jamb bumper. Three are offered: 3/32, 3/16 and 9/32 inch. Measure the existing bumper setback on the sliding door jamb and pick the shim that brings the strike flush to it. Vertical misalignment between door and jamb is handled separately by the strike's own vertical adjustment, so you only need Dimension A for the horizontal.
3) Does the Adams Rite 4800 strike come in a version for a wood jamb?
