C-123LW: Dual master set includes a door station (C-D) and a 2 master stations (C-ML/A). Additional masters may be added. Each master requires a separate power supply, either the SKK-620 or 4 "C" batteries. The door station calls the masters by pressing a call button that initiates a chime. From the C-D door station to the farthest master, the limit is 245 feet using 22AWG and 590 feet using 18AWG. Use 2-conductor overall-shielded cable, Aiphone #822202 for 22AWG or #821802 for 18AWG. If your run is longer than 245 feet, step up to the 18AWG.
4) Can the C-123LW ChimeCom release an electric door strike?
Yes. The door release output is a normally open dry contact rated 30V AC/DC at 1A. That dry contact does not power the strike itself, so you supply a separate strike power source sized to the lock and switch it through the contact. Anything drawing more than 1A needs a relay.
5) Is the Aiphone C-123LW hands-free at both ends?
Only at the door. Communication is hands free at the C-D door station, while the inside master stations are push-to-talk, release-to-listen (simplex). A conversation also times out after twenty seconds of idle time. If your tenants expect full two-way hands-free talk at the inside station, this is the wrong set.
6) Can I add more inside stations to an Aiphone ChimeCom C-123LW system?
Yes, additional C-ML/A masters can be added beyond the two included. Each one you add needs its own power, either an SKK-620 or four C batteries, and the 245 foot (22AWG) / 590 foot (18AWG) run limit is measured to the farthest master.
