The IXGW-LC-RY20 is a relay adaptor for the IXG Series IP multi-tenant video intercom system. This adaptor provides a Form C dry contact closure used for door release when paired with an IXG-DM7-HID entrance station.

The IXGW-LC-RY20 is equipped with 20 Form C relays. Up to 16 adaptors, along with the IXGW-LC, can be included in a building. Each relay can be configured and assigned to a specific IXG-DM7-HID entrance station. Individual relay contacts will activate when the door release for that entrance is activated. The elevator recall button on the IXG-2C7 tenant station can be used to activate a contact to recall the elevator to that specific floor.

Aiphone IXGW-LC-RY20 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Aiphone IXGW-LC-RY20 relay adaptor actually do in an IXG intercom system?
It gives an IXG Series IP multi-tenant video intercom system 20 Form C dry contact relays. Each relay is configured and assigned to a specific IXG-DM7-HID entrance station, and that contact closes when door release is activated at that entrance. So instead of running door release wiring back from every entrance panel, you drop the adaptor where the door controllers or elevator controller live and switch the contact remotely.
2) Will the IXGW-LC-RY20 relay contacts handle my electric strike or maglock directly?
The relay rating is 24V AC/DC at 500mA, which is a switching contact, not a power supply. That is enough to trigger a strike or maglock through its own power supply or an access control relay input, but a lock drawing more than 500mA or running above 24V must be switched through a separate relay or power supply output. Size the lock circuit before you wire straight to the contact.
3) How many Aiphone relay adaptors can I put in one building?
A maximum of 16 adaptors per building, and that count includes the IXGW-LC. At 20 Form C relays each, that is the ceiling on how many separately controlled door release or elevator contacts the system supports. On a large multi-tenant property, count your entrances and elevator floors against that limit early, since it is a system limit and not a per-panel one.
4) Can Aiphone IXG tenant stations use this adaptor for elevator recall?
Yes. The elevator recall button on the IXG-2C7 tenant station activates a contact on the adaptor to recall the elevator to that tenant's floor. That is one relay per floor you want recalled, drawn from the same pool of 20 contacts you are using for door release, so plan the allocation before ordering.
5) Do I still need the IXGW-LC if I buy the IXGW-LC-RY20?
The RY20 is described as an addition alongside the IXGW-LC, not a replacement for it: the 16 adaptor per building maximum is counted including the IXGW-LC. Treat the RY20 as the way you scale relay count in a building that already has the IXGW-LC in the system, and specify it when 20 more Form C contacts are needed for additional entrances or elevator floors.
6) Can I mount this Aiphone adaptor in an unheated parking garage or vestibule?
Operating range is 14 to 122 degrees F (-10 to 50 degrees C), which covers an unconditioned garage or a mechanical room in most climates but not an exposed outdoor location in a hard winter. Below 14 degrees F you need a heated or conditioned enclosure.
7) Is the Aiphone IXGW-LC-RY20 suitable for a commercial multi-tenant building, and does it support encrypted network traffic?
It is a commercial-rated component of the IXG Series multi-tenant video intercom platform. On the network it runs IPv4/v6 with TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, IGMP, MLD, FTP, DHCP, NTP, DNS and TLS, with TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 encryption, and supports both unicast and multicast delivery. That matters when a building IT group has to sign off on putting intercom gear on the house network.
