The MC-60/4A master station runs on a Market-Com system with 4 communication channels and a capacity of up to 60 stations. Each channel has its own LED indicator, so you can see which of the four is busy before you key up. For a warehouse or factory floor being wired for paging plus station-to-station talk, that 60 station ceiling is the number that decides whether one system covers the building or you need to plan differently.

Two ways. It surface mounts directly to the wall, or it pedestal mounts using the Aiphone MC-S12, which is what you order if you want it standing at a counter, dispatch desk, or shipping station rather than on the wall. The station body measures 9-3/16 inches H x 3-9/16 inches W x 3-11/16 inches D, so allow that footprint at whichever spot you pick. The pedestal is a separate item, not included with the master.

7 wires in a loop, non-twisted, low capacitance, PE insulated. Aiphone specifies its own #852207 cable for the job. Distance from the paging adaptor to the farthest master station on a block is 1,700 feet on 22AWG, or 4,000 feet on 18AWG. If your run is over about a third of a mile, step up to 18AWG at the design stage rather than pulling 22 and finding out later. Note the loop topology, this is not a home-run star to each station.

Handset, and it's full-duplex, so both parties talk at once with no push to talk trade off. The handset is the point when the station sits somewhere conversations shouldn't carry, a front counter, a shipping office, a nurse or dispatch desk. A paging button is separated out for easy access so you can page the floor without going through the handset menu. If your application needs hands-free open talk at the station instead, the handset version is the wrong pick.

Yes, the Market-Com system incorporates background music alongside paging and two-way communication between any station in the system. That's the combination retail buyers are usually after, music over the sales floor with the ability to break in and page a manager or take a station-to-station call without a second system on the wall.

The MC-60/4A includes a crosstalk reduction circuit, which is there specifically because four channels are running on one 7 wire loop. That matters most in a busy warehouse where several conversations are live across the four channels at the same time. The handset itself keeps the near end private, and the crosstalk circuit handles the far end on the wire.

Commercial. Aiphone builds the Market-Com line for retail stores, factories, and warehouses, which is where the paging side earns its keep, locating a person quickly across a large floor. It's not a residential door intercom. For MRO and facilities buyers standardizing across a site, the reinforced modular coiled cord on the handset is the detail worth knowing, it's the part that fails first on a station handled by a hundred different people a day.

70mA in paging mode. That figure is what you size the system power supply against once you know how many masters are going on the loop, and it's the number to have in hand before you spec the supply for a multi-station Market-Com build.
