Aiphone TB-AD1/10 - Door Station Adaptor

The two versions differ only in how many door stations they bridge onto a TC system. The TB-AD1 handles up to 1 door station; the TB-AD10 handles up to 10. Pick based on the number of entrances you're bringing into the system, not on cable type, because both carry the same wire distance limits.

Run length depends on conductor gauge. From the adaptor to an IE door station you get 500 feet on 22AWG or 1,200 feet on 18AWG. The run back to the TC-M master is much shorter: 210 feet on 22AWG, 495 feet on 18AWG. On a long campus or a multi-building property, the adaptor-to-TC-M leg is the one that will bite you, so locate the adaptor close to the master and let the longer 18AWG run go out to the entrance.

That's exactly what it does. The TB-AD1/TB-AD10 sits between IE door stations and the TC-M system so the door station can communicate with it. Without the adaptor in the path, the two don't talk.
