The TW-SPL is an adaptor plate for Aiphone’s standard IS and IX Series door stations to mount to an
Aiphone tower. The TW-SPL will secure to the middle module of the Aiphone tower and provide
the mounting pattern for the narrower standard Aiphone IS and IX Series stations.
This adaptor plate is ideal for installing TW-22/A Series high / low towers in vehicle gate entry
applications, or any time a non-emergency station needs to be mounted into an Aiphone tower.
Compatible stations are: IS-DVF, IS-IPDVF, IS-SS, IX-DVF, and IX-SSA.

Mounting:
Secure the TW-SPL adaptor plate to the Aiphone
tower using the supplied screws.
Connect the required wires to the IS or IX Series
door station and secure the door station to the
TW-SPL using the security screws and security
screw driver supplied with the door station.

Aiphone TW-SPL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Aiphone door stations will mount on the TW-SPL adaptor plate?
The TW-SPL accepts five Aiphone door stations: IS-DVF, IS-IPDVF, IS-SS, IX-DVF, and IX-SSA. It gives those narrower IS and IX Series stations the mounting pattern they need inside an Aiphone tower. If the station you are installing is not one of those five, the TW-SPL is not the adaptor for it.
2) Do I need an adaptor to put a standard IS or IX door station in an Aiphone tower?
Yes. The tower's middle module is cut for a wider opening than the standard IS and IX Series stations, so the TW-SPL plate bolts into that middle module and carries the narrower station's mounting pattern. Without it there is no hole pattern to secure the station to.
3) Can I use an Aiphone tower for a vehicle gate call station instead of an emergency phone?
That is exactly what the TW-SPL is built for. Aiphone calls out installing TW-22/A Series high/low towers at vehicle gate entries with a standard IS or IX station in place of the usual emergency unit, and the plate covers any case where a non-emergency station needs to go into an Aiphone tower.
4) What comes in the box with the Aiphone TW-SPL, and do I need anything else to install it?
The package holds the TW-SPL adaptor plate and four mounting screws, which are what fasten the plate to the tower. The station itself mounts to the plate with the security screws and security screwdriver that ship with the IS or IX door station, so those come from the station box, not this one. Station wiring is landed before the station is secured.
5) Does the TW-SPL change the wiring or power requirements of the door station?
No. The plate is strictly a mechanical adaptor. You land the required wires on the IS or IX Series station the same way you would anywhere else, then fasten the station to the plate. Power and network for the station come from whatever that station model normally requires.
6) Is the TW-SPL adaptor plate rated for commercial installations?
Aiphone lists the TW-SPL as commercial door hardware, which fits how it is used: tower-mounted entry stations at parking gates, campuses, and controlled vehicle entrances. It is a passive mounting plate, so it adds no electronics of its own to the station it carries.
