1) What wire sizes does the Blackburn ICS75-1 service entrance splice take?
The ICS75-1 is a two-conductor splice sized for 1/0 on the A side and #4 solid on the B side, so it joins one run to a smaller one rather than two like-size conductors. If both of your conductors are the same size, this is the wrong part number in the ICS series.
2) Can I use this Blackburn splice on aluminum-to-copper, or only aluminum-to-aluminum?
Both. The ICS75-1 complies with ANSI C119.4 when properly installed on aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-copper conductors, so it is rated for a dissimilar-metal transition as well as an all-aluminum splice.
3) Is the Blackburn ICS75-1 crimped or does it use setscrews?
It is a compression splice. You crimp it with a hydraulic or battery compression tool and the correct die for the barrel; there are no setscrews to torque, and it is not reusable once crimped.
4) Will the ICS75-1 work for stranded #4 on the small side?
The B side of the ICS75-1 is sized for #4 solid. A #4 stranded conductor has a different outside diameter and will not compress correctly in a barrel bored for solid, so pick the ICS variant matched to stranded rather than forcing this one.
