1) Can I use the J1107 green anchors in drywall, or do I need plaster or masonry?
These are ribbed plastic expansion anchors: you drill a hole, tap the anchor in, and the screw expands it against the hole wall. That works in solid material like plaster, masonry, block, and brick. In hollow drywall a plastic expansion anchor has little to grip, so for sheetrock-only mounting use a toggle or a self-drilling drywall anchor instead.
2) What does collarless mean on a plastic wall anchor, and when do I want it?
Collarless means the anchor has no flange or lip at the top, so it drives fully flush into the hole instead of sitting proud of the surface. That matters when you are mounting something with a flat back, like a device plate, bracket, or fixture canopy, and a collar would hold it off the wall. If you need the anchor to stop at the surface and not slip through an oversized hole, a collared version is the better choice. The J1107 is the collarless type.
3) Do the J1107 anchors come with screws?
The jar holds anchors only, 100 of them. You supply the #10 or #12 screws separately, and length is your call based on the 1-1/4 inch anchor plus the material you are fastening through.
