1) What size lead anchor does the Metallics 15065M setting tool work with?
The Metallics 15065M is a setting tool sized for 1/2-13 machine screw lead anchors. The 1/2-13 designation is the internal thread of the anchor (1/2 inch diameter, 13 threads per inch), so the tool matches that anchor size only. A different machine screw anchor diameter needs the matching setting tool for that size.
2) Do I need a setting tool to install 1/2-13 lead machine screw anchors in concrete?
Yes. A machine screw lead anchor has to be expanded in the hole before the bolt goes in, and that is what the 15065M does: you drop the anchor in the drilled hole, seat the tool in the anchor and strike it with a hammer to flare the lead against the hole wall.
