Length buys you embedment plus fixture thickness. At 10 inches, a 1/2 inch wedge anchor is sized for thick base plates, shims, grout beds, pole bases, and sill plates where the bolt has to pass through several inches of material and still get deep embedment in the concrete. If you are only anchoring thin strut or a conduit clamp, a shorter 1/2 inch anchor is the right call, since excess stickout has to be cut or sleeved.

Wedge anchors are for solid, poured concrete. In hollow block, brick, or grouted masonry the expansion clip has nothing consistent to bite into, so use a sleeve anchor or a screw anchor rated for masonry instead. The TS6618G is a concrete wedge anchor.

Wedge anchors are supplied as a complete assembly, with the expansion clip, nut, and washer on the stud, so each of the 20 anchors in the box is ready to drive. Nothing else is needed but the correct carbide bit and a hammer and wrench.
