1) What size hole do I drill for a 5/8 inch wedge anchor like the TS508G?
Wedge anchors are drilled at the same nominal diameter as the anchor, so a 5/8 inch anchor takes a 5/8 inch carbide bit in concrete. Drill deeper than your intended embedment so dust has somewhere to go, blow the hole clean, then drive the anchor through the fixture and tighten the nut to expand the clip.
2) Can I use the TS508G wedge anchor in block, brick, or hollow masonry?
No. Wedge anchors expand against solid material and are intended for poured concrete. In hollow block or brick, the clip has nothing to grip and pull-out is unpredictable. Use a sleeve anchor, screw anchor, or an epoxy/adhesive anchor with a screen tube in those bases.
3) Is the hot-dip galvanized finish on the TS508G anchor okay for outdoor or wet locations?
Hot-dip galvanizing is the heavier zinc coating used for exterior and damp exposure, which is why this 5/8 inch anchor is specified HDG rather than plain zinc. Typical use is outdoor equipment pads, exterior strut and standoff bases, light pole and sign bases, and bollards. For direct saltwater immersion or chemical exposure, stainless is the usual call instead.
4) Does the TS508G anchor come with a nut and washer?
