1) What size hole do I drill for a 5/8 inch wedge anchor?
A 5/8 inch wedge anchor like the TS506G is set in a 5/8 inch hole drilled with a carbide hammer bit; the anchor diameter and the bit diameter match on wedge anchors. Drill deeper than your intended embedment so drilling dust can settle below the anchor, blow the hole clean, then drive the anchor and tighten the nut to expand the clip.
2) Will a 5/8 x 6 wedge anchor work in block or hollow CMU?
No. Wedge anchors such as the TS506G are for solid, poured concrete only. They work by wedging a clip against the sides of the hole, and hollow block walls will not develop that grip. For hollow CMU use a sleeve anchor, toggle, or an epoxy-set rod with a screen tube instead.
3) Can the Metallics TS506G hot-dip galvanized wedge anchor be used outdoors?
Yes. The TS506G carries a hot-dip galvanized finish, which is the coating specified for exterior and damp concrete work, light poles, exterior strut racks, equipment pads and parking structures, where a plain zinc anchor would rust. For submerged or chemically aggressive conditions, stainless is the usual step up.
4) How much material thickness can a 5/8 x 6 wedge anchor fasten?
At 6 inches overall, the TS506G is one of the longer lengths in the 5/8 inch wedge family, which leaves room for thick fixtures: baseplates, strut channel, timber sills or grout beds, with the balance going into the concrete. Wedge anchors need the expansion clip fully below the surface of the slab, so your embedment plus fixture thickness plus nut and washer has to add up within the 6 inches.
5) Does the Metallics TS506G anchor come with a nut and washer?
Wedge anchors in this style ship as a complete assembly, with the nut and washer on the threaded stud, which is what you turn to set the clip. Nothing else is needed beyond a matching 5/8 inch carbide bit, a hammer drill, and a wrench.
6) Can a wedge anchor be removed or reused once it is set?
No. The TS506G sets permanently: tightening the nut draws the cone into the expansion clip and locks it against the concrete. You can back the nut off and remove the fixture, but the anchor body stays in the hole. Plan layout before drilling, and if an anchor has to be abandoned, cut or drive it flush and set a new one at the required spacing from the edge and from the old hole.
