Metallics J2522SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many anchors come in a jar of Metallics J2522SS?
Each jar holds 100 anchors. Metallics packs the J2522SS in a jar rather than a loose box, which is why it is ordered by the jar and not by the piece.
2) Is a stainless steel sleeve anchor worth it over zinc for outdoor or wet locations?
That is the reason this version exists. The J2522SS is the stainless steel variant of the 1/4 x 2-1/4 sleeve anchor, which is what you specify for exterior walls, parking structures, wash-down areas, pool rooms, and coastal work where a plated carbon steel anchor will rust and stain the masonry. For dry interior concrete, a zinc plated anchor of the same size does the same mechanical job.
3) Can I use the Metallics J2522SS to fasten conduit straps and device boxes to block wall?
Yes, that is the normal use. It is an electrical fastener, catalogued by Metallics as an anchor for electrical work, and a 1/4 inch sleeve anchor is the common pick for one hole straps, minerallac clips, box backs, and small brackets on concrete, hollow block, and brick.
4) Do I need extra nuts and washers with these anchors, or are they included?
No separate hardware to buy. A sleeve anchor of this style ships as a complete assembly, with the nut and washer already on the threaded stud, so each of the 100 pieces in the jar is ready to set.
