Metallics WAK22 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size anchor is in the Metallics WAK22 wall anchor kit?
The Metallics WAK22 kit holds 3/16 inch gray plastic wall anchors in a size 6, packaged as a 200-piece clamshell. The 3/16 inch figure is the anchor body diameter, so that is the drill bit size you want in the wall before setting them.
2) Is the WAK22 anchor kit sold by the piece or in bulk for an electrical crew?
It comes as a single clamshell of 200 anchors under part number WAK22, which is how a van-stock or MRO buyer would carry a size 6 plastic anchor rather than buying handfuls. One clamshell covers a lot of device plates, conduit straps, and small box mounting on drywall.
3) Do plastic wall anchors like the Metallics WAK22 work in concrete or just drywall?
Gray plastic ribbed anchors in a 3/16 inch size are a hollow-wall and masonry-insert fastener, best suited to drywall, plaster, and block where loads are light, things like cover plates, low-voltage brackets, and cable clips. For anything structural or for heavy equipment hung on concrete, move to a steel sleeve or wedge anchor instead; plastic will not give you that holding value.
4) What is the Metallics part number for the 3/16 inch gray plastic wall anchor clamshell?
Order it as Metallics WAK22. That designation covers the 3/16 inch gray plastic wall anchor kit, size 6, in the 200-count clamshell, and it is the only configuration the WAK22 number refers to.
