1) Can I use a 3/8 x 4 sleeve anchor in hollow block as well as solid concrete?
Sleeve anchors like the J3732 are the general-purpose masonry anchor for concrete, brick and hollow block, because the expanding sleeve spreads the load over a longer section of the hole instead of gripping at one point. A wedge anchor is the stronger choice in solid poured concrete, but it is not suited to hollow block. At 4 inches of length, the J3732 has enough reach for a fixture base plus embedment in block.
