Metallics JTS11341SSD – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will stainless wedge anchors hold up outdoors or in a wet vault?
Stainless is the reason to pick this one. The JTS11341SSD is a stainless steel wedge anchor, so it suits exterior concrete, parking structures, wash-down areas, and damp electrical vaults where plated carbon steel anchors rust and lose hold. For dry interior slab work, a zinc-plated wedge anchor of the same 1/4 x 1-3/4 size does the same mechanical job.
2) Can I use a wedge anchor in block or brick instead of concrete?
No. Wedge anchors like the 1/4 x 1-3/4 JTS11341SSD are for solid poured concrete only. In hollow block, brick, or mortar joints the expansion clip either blows out the web or spins in the hole. Use a sleeve anchor or a toggle rated for hollow masonry there.
3) What is the exact part number to order these Metallics stainless wedge anchors?
Order Metallics part JTS11341SSD. That number covers the 1/4 x 1-3/4 stainless wedge anchor in the 100-count jar, and it is the only configuration under that number, so there is no size or finish option to specify.
