Metallics JTS1024SSD – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the Metallics JTS1024SSD stainless wedge anchor outdoors or in a wet location?
Stainless construction is the reason to pick this one. For rooftop strut, exterior wall-mounted conduit, parking structures, pool and wash-down areas, or coastal work, the stainless body resists the corrosion that eats plated carbon steel wedge anchors. Indoors in dry concrete a zinc-plated anchor does the same mechanical job; the stainless version earns its place where moisture or chlorides are present.
2) Will a 2-1/4 inch long wedge anchor work in a hollow block wall?
No. Wedge anchors need solid base material; they expand against the sides of the hole and will spin or pull out in the void of a hollow CMU. Use them in poured, cured concrete. For hollow block, a sleeve anchor or a toggle-type fastener is the right choice.
3) What part number should I order for stainless 1/4 inch wedge anchors from Metallics?
Order Metallics JTS1024SSD. That is the 1/4 x 2-1/4 stainless wedge anchor, supplied in a 100-count jar, and the number covers both the anchor and the jar pack.
