Arrow 7100CRP - SFIC Core, 7-Pin, Uncombinated, Best A Keyway, Plain Face, No Logo

The 7100CRP is a small format interchangeable core cut for the Best A keyway, so it drops into an existing A keyway system and takes A keyway keys. It ships uncombinated, meaning it has no pinning in it, so a locksmith pins it to your existing keying and it joins the system as another core rather than standing alone on its own key.

It comes uncombinated. There are no pins or springs loaded and no keys supplied, so the core is not usable as delivered. Someone with a capping press or a follower and an A keyway pin kit has to combinate it to your key bitting first. Order this when you or your locksmith control the keying; if you want a core that works out of the box, you want a factory keyed core instead.

Yes, for any housing that already has a core in it. Interchangeable cores are removed and installed with a control key that retracts the core lug, not with the operating key. Since the 7100CRP arrives uncombinated, the control shear line gets set when it is pinned, so tell whoever combinates it which control key your system uses. Without that, the new core will not pull out again with your existing control key.

Small format interchangeable cores use a common figure eight profile, so the 7100CRP seats in any SFIC prepped housing, mortise cylinder, rim cylinder, knob, lever or exit device trim built for small format, not just Arrow hardware. What has to match is the keyway, Best A here, and the pin count. A housing prepped for a large format interchangeable core or a standard mortise cylinder will not take it.

Plain face means the front of the core is blank, with no manufacturer stamp or logo on it. It is cosmetic only, it does not change the figure eight core profile, the control key operation, or how it seats in a housing. Institutional buyers often specify plain face so cores across a campus look uniform regardless of who supplied them, and so the brand of the key system is not advertised at the door.

Satin chrome, 626, which is the standard commercial finish and matches the 626 lever sets, exit device trim and mortise hardware already on most office, school and multi family openings. It is the only finish offered on this core, so if you are standardizing a floor of doors the core will not be the piece that breaks the match.
