B-LINE SB310BYZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What hardware comes with the B-Line SB310BYZ drop rod bracket, and do I need to order anything else?
The SB310BYZ ships as a single bracket with 1/2 inch-13 hardware. The all-thread rod itself is not included, so you supply the 5/8 inch ATR, plus the nuts and washers at the rod, and whatever anchors the assembly to the structure above. Note the description references brackets in pairs but what you are buying here is the single bracket, so order two if the drop needs a pair.
2) Is the B-Line SB310BYZ bracket OK for a damp or unheated space, like a parking garage or mechanical room?
It is steel with a yellow zinc chromate finish. That is an indoor and sheltered-condition coating, fine for mechanical rooms, ceiling plenums, and covered garages, but it is not a hot-dip galvanized or stainless part. For direct weather exposure, wash-down areas, or corrosive process environments, specify a galvanized or stainless support instead.
3) What is an angled drop rod bracket used for in a strut or trapeze hanger run?
An angled drop rod bracket lets you land a threaded drop rod on structure at an angle rather than dead plumb, or transition a rod to a strut channel where the two are not square to each other. Contractors reach for it when the deck, bar joist, or beam above does not sit directly over the trapeze, so a straight vertical drop is not available. The SB310BYZ is the 5/8 inch ATR version of that part.
4) Does the B-Line SB310BYZ carry a UL listing or other certification?
The SB310BYZ is a plain steel support bracket and carries no certification of its own. If your submittal calls for a listed or labeled support assembly, that requirement lands on the overall hanger system and its anchors, not on this bracket.
