B-LINE SB108KYZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How big is the B-Line SB108KYZ clip, and will it fit in a tight space between rack uprights?
It is a small piece: 1.5 in by 1.5 in with a height of .375 in, and it weighs .35 lb. That footprint means it tucks into tight framing joints without adding bulk, and the light weight keeps it from loading the rack structure.
2) What is the B-Line SB108KYZ grid framing clip kit used for?
The SB108KYZ is a grid framing clip kit for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks. It is a steel clip kit finished in yellow zinc chromate, used as framing hardware on open rack assemblies rather than as a rack component itself.
3) Is the yellow zinc finish on the SB108KYZ clip kit suitable for outdoor or damp locations?
Yellow zinc chromate over steel is a coating for dry indoor service, which is where open frame racks normally live (data rooms, electrical rooms, IT closets). It is not a hot-dip galvanized or stainless part, so for wet, outdoor, or corrosive areas specify hardware rated for that environment instead.
4) Which part number do I order for the yellow zinc grid framing clip kit for B-Line open racks?
Order Eaton B-Line SB108KYZ. That is the only configuration of the yellow zinc chromate grid framing clip kit, so there is no finish or size selection to make on the order.
