B-LINE SB789SBYZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the B-Line SB789SBYZ kit actually do in a data center or telecom room?
The Eaton B-Line SB789SBYZ is a runway to E2 cabinet attachment kit. It is the hardware that ties a cable runway (ladder rack) to an E2 series cabinet so the runway is supported off the enclosure instead of needing separate floor or wall support at that point. It is sold as a kit under model SB789SBYZ.
2) How much space does the B-Line runway to E2 cabinet attachment kit take up on the rack?
Plan for a part measuring 26 x 2 x 1 inches, with the 26 inch figure given as length/depth, 2 inches as width and 1 inch as height. The kit weighs 5 lb, so one person can set it in place while a second lands the bolts.
3) Will this B-Line kit attach runway to any cabinet, or only E2 cabinets?
It is built specifically as a runway to E2 cabinet attachment kit, so the bolt pattern and geometry are for the E2 series enclosure. For a different cabinet family, or for attaching runway to a wall, ceiling or threaded rod, you need the support bracket made for that condition rather than this kit.
4) Is the B-Line SB789SBYZ runway attachment kit UL Listed?
Yes, the SB789SBYZ kit is UL Listed. That is the rating stated for it, which matters if you are bonding and grounding runway on an inspected installation.
5) What finish is on the SB789SBYZ attachment kit, and is it suitable for an indoor equipment room?
The kit carries a yellow zinc dichromate finish, which is a plated corrosion-resistant coating intended for indoor, dry equipment rooms rather than exterior or wash-down use. If your specification calls for a painted or plated runway match, note that zinc dichromate has its own gold-cast appearance and will not visually match black or grey painted runway.
