1) Can the B-Line M22-C1-M2H emergency stop station be mounted outdoors or in a washdown area?
The M22-C1-M2H control station carries an IP66 rating and is UL (NEMA) Type 4X and Type 13, so it handles washdown, hose-directed water, dust and corrosive environments as well as oil and coolant. The enclosure is impact resistant polycarbonate, which is why the 4X rating holds up without a metal box.
2) What voltage does the illuminated E-stop on the M22-C1-M2H run on?
It is rated 85 to 264V, so the red illumination runs on standard 120V or 230V control power without a separate transformer. The lamp is red and the actuator is illuminated.
3) Does the M22 emergency stop latch when you hit it, or does it spring back?
It latches. The M22-C1-M2H uses a maintained action with a 40 mm push-pull mushroom head, so the operator stays depressed until someone pulls it back out to reset the circuit. That is the behavior required for an E-stop function, not a momentary pushbutton.
4) How many contacts come on the B-Line M22-C1-M2H control station, and can I use it to signal a PLC?
It ships with an NO-NC contact block: one normally closed contact for the safety circuit and one normally open contact you can use for status or signaling back to a PLC or contactor seal-in. It is a one element station, so that single actuator is all it carries.
5) Will this replace an existing 22.5 mm emergency stop button on my machine?
The M22 line is built around the 22.5 mm standard operator size, which is the common metric control hole used across industrial pushbutton lines. Note that the M22-C1-M2H is a complete assembled enclosure with the operator already installed, not a loose operator for dropping into an existing panel cutout. If you are replacing a button in a panel door, you want a bare 22.5 mm operator and contact block instead.
6) Do I have to buy the operator, contact block and enclosure separately for a B-Line M22 E-stop?
No. The M22-C1-M2H comes assembled: the yellow enclosure, the 40 mm push-pull mushroom actuator, the illumination and the NO-NC contact block are already put together as one control station. You mount it, land your wires, and you are done.
7) Is the B-Line M22 station yellow and black so it reads as an emergency stop?
Yes. The enclosure is yellow with a black base, the standard color pairing operators expect to see behind a red mushroom head E-stop. Between the yellow housing and the red illuminated head, it reads as emergency stop from across a plant floor.
