Baldwin 6757003 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size hole does the Baldwin 6757 collar cover?
The collar is 1-3/4 inches in diameter overall, so it covers the face of the door around the cylinder out to that 1-3/4 inch circle. Measure your existing trim or bore before ordering if you are covering an old prep.
2) What finishes can I get the Baldwin 6757 cylinder collar in?
Five: 003 Polished Brass PVD, 033 Vintage Brass, 102 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 112 Venetian Bronze, and 190 Satin Black. If you are matching handlesets already on the building, order the collar in the same Baldwin finish code rather than by eye.
3) Is the Baldwin Estate 6757 collar solid brass or plated pot metal?
Solid forged brass. That is why the finishes hold up on an exterior door, and why it can be ordered in the same finish family as the rest of the Estate trim on the opening.
4) I have several doors with mismatched cylinder rings. Can I standardize with the Baldwin 6757?
That is what it is for. Ordering the same 1-3/4 inch Colonial round collar in one finish across a group of doors gives every cylinder the same look without touching the locks themselves, since the collar is trim only and the cylinder stays as-is.
5) Is this Baldwin collar suitable for a commercial opening?
Baldwin catalogs the Estate 6757 as residential door trim. For apartment unit entries and single-family doors it is the right decorative ring; for a commercial storefront or institutional opening you would normally be specifying a standard cylinder ring with the lock manufacturer's own trim instead.
