2) What is the difference between the Pair and Half Pair options on the Baldwin R011 rose?
Pair covers both faces of the door, one rose inside and one outside, which is what you need for a complete tubular privacy set. Half Pair is a single rose with one backplate and retainer, for one side only, useful when you are replacing a damaged rose or trimming one face. Both are offered in every finish the R011 is made in.
3) Can I use the R011 privacy rose on a passage or dummy door instead?
The R011 rose is built for the privacy function, so the version to order for a privacy bath or bedroom door is this one. Baldwin does offer the same R011 rose style in Passage, Privacy, Full Dummy and Half Dummy sets, so if you want matching trim on a closet or a non-latching door, order the rose configured for that function rather than fitting the privacy rose there.
4) How far does the Baldwin R011 rose stand off the face of the door?
Projection is 0.25 inch, so the rose sits nearly flush against the door face. That matters when the door sits close to casing or a stop, and it keeps the knob or lever spacing tight to the door.
5) Will the Baldwin R011 rose match the other Estate Series trim already on my doors?
The R011 is part of Baldwin's Estate Series, so it is finish-matched to other Estate trim and can be specified in the same code you already have on the building, including 003 Polished Brass, 055 Polished Nickel, 056 Satin Nickel, 102 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 190 Satin Black and 260 Polished Chrome. Order by the finish number rather than the finish name to keep a fleet of doors consistent.
6) Is the Baldwin Estate R011 privacy rose suitable for a commercial opening?
It is classified residential. For an office building, school or other commercial opening with code and cycle requirements, a Grade 1 or Grade 2 cylindrical or mortise lockset is the right call; the R011 belongs on interior residential doors, including high-end multi-family and hospitality guest rooms where the look is the point.
7) Is the Baldwin Estate R011 rose solid brass?
Yes, the substrate is brass. On the Lifetime Satin Nickel version the solid brass is nickel-plated with a PVD finish, which is why it carries the weight of brass rather than the feel of a plated zinc part.
