Yes, the R029 is built for tubular privacy sets. It is the trim side of that assembly, with the privacy function coming from the latch and the knob or lever you pair with it, so the latch you choose has to be a tubular privacy latch with a turn and release.
4) How far does the Baldwin Estate R029 rose stand off the door face?
Projection is 0.25 inch, so the rose sits nearly flush to the door. That matters where a door swings tight against a wall or where a stop or adjacent casing is close, and it keeps the profile low under a knob or lever base.
5) Is the Baldwin R029 rose solid brass or plated pot metal?
The substrate is brass. On the Lifetime Satin Nickel version, Baldwin nickel-plates that solid brass with a PVD process, which is why it keeps the weight and feel of brass rather than a cast zinc part.

9) Will Non-Lacquered Brass on the R029 rose stay shiny?
No, and that is the point of it. Non-Lacquered Brass (031) has no clear coat, so it darkens and patinas with handling over time. If you want the brass look to stay bright and uniform across a whole house, order Polished Brass (003) instead.
