Deadlock (AD) means there is no lever or knob on either side. The 45H deadlock case operates by key only, throwing a stainless steel deadbolt with a 1 inch throw. 7) Will the BEST 45H deadlock latch into my existing mortise strike?
The deadlock case throws a 1 inch stainless deadbolt plus a 3/4 inch throw stainless latchbolt with a non-handed stainless auxiliary bolt. If your existing strike was cut for a 2-3/4 inch backset mortise lock with that bolt arrangement, it will engage. There is also an optional 7/8 inch lip to center strike if your frame condition needs the longer lip to clear the stop or trim.
