The 45HCA lockbody is a 2-3/4 inch backset mortise case, and the standard configuration is built for 1-3/4 inch doors. If your door is thicker, BEST makes a thick door configuration for doors up to 5 inches, but you have to specify the thickness when you order it. There's no field adjustment for that, so measure the leaf before you place the order.
