No core is included. The 45HCA lockbody is prepped for a BEST small format interchangeable core (SFIC) and ships less core, so you order the core and keying separately. It is a single cylinder keyed function, meaning key access on one side only, which is normal for a hotel guest room opening. 2) Is the BEST 45HCA lockbody handed, or can I change the handing in the field?

The auxiliary bolt is non-handed. You still pick a hand when ordering (RH, LH, RHRB or LHRB), but a lock that shows up set wrong can be flipped on site instead of returned.
3) What door thickness does the BEST 45H mortise lockbody fit?
Standard configuration is built for 1-3/4 inch doors, which covers most commercial openings. For anything thicker, up to 5 inches, a thick door configuration is available but you have to state the actual door thickness when you order. Cut the pocket for a case measuring 5-7/8 x 7/8 x 4-1/16 inches, and route the door edge for a faceplate of 8 x 1-1/4 x 1/16 inches.
