Bobrick 1002666 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread does the Bobrick 1002666 sex bolt take?
The Bobrick 1002666 is a female sex bolt with a #10-24 internal thread, so it mates with a #10-24 machine screw or stud. If the screw coming through the other side of your partition panel or accessory is not #10-24, this barrel will not thread onto it.
2) Do I get the mating screw with the Bobrick B-1002666, or just the barrel?
The B-1002666 is the female half only, the #10-24 threaded barrel. The mating screw is a separate item, so if you are missing both halves you need to source the screw as well as this part.
3) What is a sex bolt used for on a Bobrick washroom accessory?
A sex bolt is a two-piece fastener: a female barrel threaded internally (this is the #10-24 female half) that passes through the panel from one side, and a mating screw that draws into it from the other. On Bobrick washroom products it lets a unit be through-bolted without a nut showing or a tapped hole in the substrate. The 1002666 is sold as a repair part for Bobrick washroom products.
4) I am rebuilding a Bobrick washroom unit and the barrel nut spins free. Is the 1002666 the right replacement?
If the failed piece is the internally threaded barrel that the screw tightens into, and the screw is #10-24, the 1002666 is the matching Bobrick service part. It is catalogued by Bobrick as a repair part for their washroom products, so it is a factory replacement rather than a generic substitute. Confirm the thread on your screw first, since this part is offered in the #10-24 female size only.
5) Is the Bobrick 1002666 sex bolt offered in more than one size or thread?
One configuration only, model 1002666, female #10-24. There are no length or finish options to pick, which makes it straightforward to order in quantity when you are standardizing repair stock across a building's restrooms.
