Bobrick 2706C – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Bobrick B-2706 napkin/tampon vendor require coins, or does it dispense free?
The B-2706C ships set up for free vend, so users push the button and take a product with no coin needed. If your facility later decides to charge, the mechanism converts in the field to 25 cents, 50 cents or token operation without swapping the unit out. That makes it a practical choice for schools, offices and healthcare washrooms that want free product now but keep the option open.
2) Can I surface mount this feminine hygiene vendor on a tile or block wall instead of cutting into the partition?
Yes. The B-2706C is a surface-mounted unit with an adjustable flange, so it fastens to the face of the wall rather than dropping into a recess. That is the version to specify on existing tile, CMU or any wall you do not want to open up. If you are building new and want the unit flush in the wall, a surface-mount model is the wrong pick and you want a recessed vendor instead.
3) Is the Bobrick B-2706C vendor ADA compliant for push force?
It is listed as ADA compliant, and the operating detail behind that is a push-button that takes less than 5 pounds of force with no grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist. Mounting height is still on the installer, so set the operable part within the reach range for your occupancy.
4) How many napkins and tampons does the B-2706C hold before it needs restocking?
Capacity is 30 tampons and 20 napkins. Loading is straightforward, no weights to reset, and there is an easy-access product tray. For a high-traffic restroom that means restocking is part of a regular route rather than an occasional task.
5) Will the keys for this Bobrick vendor work on my other Bobrick washroom accessories?
The B-2706C uses two tumbler door locks keyed like other Bobrick accessories, so a facility already standardized on Bobrick dispensers can carry one key for the route. That is the main reason MRO and janitorial buyers stay within one brand across a building.
6) What material is the Bobrick B-2706C made of, and will it hold up in a public restroom?
Exposed surfaces are type 304 stainless steel in a satin finish, which is the standard choice for public and institutional washrooms because it resists corrosion and hides wear better than a bright polish. Satin is the only finish this vendor comes in, so it matches the usual Bobrick satin stainless accessory package.
7) Why does this vendor use single-coin slots if it is set to free vend?
The single-coin slot design is what keeps the coin mechanism jam-resistant, and it stays in place whether the unit is running free or converted to 25 cents, 50 cents or token. So the hardware you get is the same either way, which is what lets the free-to-paid conversion happen in the field.
