Bobrick 27460 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Bobrick B-27460 hold jumbo rolls, or only standard toilet tissue rolls?
The B-27460 takes two standard rolls up to 6 inches in diameter, about 2000 sheets each, on high-impact plastic spindles. Anything larger than 6 inches will not seat. If your facility runs jumbo tissue, this is the wrong dispenser type and you want a jumbo-roll unit instead.
2) Does the B-27460 have controlled delivery, and what does that mean for a high-traffic restroom?
No controlled delivery on this model. Both rolls turn freely, so users can pull as much as they want, which speeds service but does nothing to limit consumption or theft of paper. If your goal is reducing tissue usage in a high-abuse or high-traffic washroom, look for a controlled-delivery version instead. What this unit does control is the rolls themselves: a tumbler lock secures the spindles so rolls cannot be removed.
3) Is the Bobrick B-27460 vandal resistant enough for a public or correctional-type restroom?
It is built as a vandal-resistant unit in heavy-duty cast aluminum with a satin finish, and the tumbler lock keeps the spindles captive so rolls cannot be pulled out. That combination is what separates it from light-gauge plastic dispensers in schools, parks, transit, and stadium washrooms.
4) Is the Bobrick B-27460 surface mounted or does it need a wall recess?
Surface mounted. It fastens to the finished wall face, so there is no rough-in or wall cavity work, which makes it a straightforward retrofit over an existing dispenser footprint on block, tile, or drywall with appropriate anchors.
5) Is the Bobrick B-27460 ADA compliant?
Bobrick lists the B-27460 as ADA compliant. Compliance still depends on how you hang it: mounting height and the position relative to the water closet and grab bar are set by the installer, so follow the accessibility dimensions on your drawings.
6) Do I need a key to reload the Bobrick B-27460, and who carries it?
Yes, the unit uses a tumbler lock that holds the spindles in place, so a janitorial staffer needs the key to service it. If you are standardizing a building, order the same model across all restrooms so one key serves the whole route.
7) What finish does the B-27460 come in, and will it match other Bobrick washroom accessories in the same restroom?
One finish only: satin. The body is cast aluminum with a satin finish, which reads alongside the satin stainless accessories most commercial restrooms are specified with, so it fits a standardized washroom package without a special-order finish.
