Bobrick 38030 115V – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size wall opening do I need to rough in for the Bobrick B-38030 recessed towel dispenser and hand dryer unit?
Frame the rough wall opening at 14-1/4 x 55-9/16 x 4 inches (362 x 1412 x 100 mm). That 4 inch depth is the number to watch on a stud wall, since the cabinet is a space-saving depth but still needs clear space behind the finished wall. The door has a 90 degree return that conceals the flange, so minor wall finish irregularities at the opening edge get covered.
2) Is the Bobrick B-38030 available in 208-240V for my building, or only 115V?
Both. The 115V version runs the hand dryer at 110-120V AC, 8.0 Amp, 920 Watts, 50/60 Hz, single phase, cULus Listed. The 230V version runs at 208-240V AC, 3.6-4.2 Amp, 750-1000 Watts, 50/60 Hz, single phase, CE marked, cULus Listed, and meets electrical safety requirement AS/NZS 600335. Voltage is the only ordering choice, so pick it off the circuit you are feeding the unit from.
3) Can the B-38030 be surface mounted if my wall cavity is too shallow?
No. The B-38030 is a recessed unit only, and it needs a 14-1/4 x 55-9/16 x 4 inch wall opening. On a solid masonry wall, a shallow chase, or anywhere you cannot open up 4 inches of depth, you need a surface-mounted towel dispenser and dryer instead of this cabinet.
4) How many paper towels does the B-38030 hold, and what fold does it take?
It holds 600 multi-fold or 450 C-fold towels. Built-in TowelMate helps feed towels one at a time rather than in clumps, which is what keeps a high-traffic restroom from burning through a fill before the next service round. Towel dispensing is manual; the hand dryer is the automatic part of the unit.
5) How big is the waste bin in the Bobrick B-38030, and does it come out for servicing?
The waste container is 3.6 gallons (13.7 L), removable, and leak-proof. Housekeeping pulls the liner and container out through the door rather than reaching into the cabinet. On a restroom with steady traffic, that capacity generally means emptying on each routine round rather than trusting it overnight.
6) Does one B-38030 cabinet really replace three separate restroom fixtures?
Yes, it is a single recessed cabinet combining a manual paper towel dispenser, an automatic hand dryer, and a waste receptacle. For a spec writer that means one rough opening and one electrical feed instead of three separate wall units and the wall space they each eat. Note the tradeoff: users who want a towel still pull one manually, so you are not eliminating towel restocking by adding the dryer.
7) What finish is the Bobrick B-38030 door, and will it hold up in a public restroom?
Satin-finish stainless steel with a flush TrimLine door. Satin hides fingerprints and cleaning marks better than a mirror finish, which is why it gets specified everywhere from Class-A office floors to restaurants. The flush face with the 90 degree return leaves no exposed flange edge for users to catch or vandalize.
