Bobrick 380309 115V – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the difference between the 115V and 230V versions of the Bobrick B-380309?
It's the hand dryer's electrical supply. The 115V unit runs 110-120V AC, 8.0 Amp, 920 Watts, 50/60 Hz single phase, cULlisted. The 230V unit runs 208-240V AC, 3.6-4.0 Amp, 750-950 Watts, 50/60 Hz single phase, CE marked, cULlisted, and meets electrical safety requirement AS/NZS 600335. Same cabinet and same towel and waste capacities either way, so pick by the circuit you have at the wall.
2) How many paper towels does the Bobrick B-380309 hold before it needs refilling?
600 multi-fold or 450 C-fold towels, plus a built-in TowelMate to keep the stack feeding one at a time. The waste container takes 3.6 gallons (13.7 L). In a high-traffic restroom the waste side usually fills before the towel side, so plan your service round around the bin, not the towels.
3) Is the B-380309 a single unit or do I need separate towel, dryer and waste fixtures?
One cabinet does all three: paper towel dispenser, automatic hand dryer, and waste receptacle behind a single satin-finish stainless steel door. That's one wall opening and one service point instead of three fixtures, which is why it gets specified where wall space is tight. The dryer gives users an option when the towels run out, so the restroom never goes dry between service rounds.
4) Will the B-380309 hold up in a high-traffic public restroom?
The cabinet is 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, which is the standard corrosion-resistant grade for commercial washroom accessories and takes cleaning chemicals and moisture without pitting. The door is secured with 2 tumbler locks, so towels and the waste bin are not open to tampering. The waste container itself is removable and leak-proof, so liquid doesn't reach the cabinet.
5) Does the B-380309 need a trim ring or separate flange at the wall opening?
No separate trim is needed. The door has a 90 degree return that conceals the flange, so the edge of the rough opening is covered by the door itself. The TrimLine cabinet is also shallow in depth, which matters when you're working in a stud wall or a chase with limited room behind the finished face.
6) What kind of paper towels do I have to buy for the Bobrick B-380309?
Multi-fold or C-fold towels, nothing else. It takes 600 multi-fold or 450 C-fold, so if your facility currently standardizes on roll towel you'd need to switch stock for this unit. Multi-fold gives you the higher fill count per service visit.
7) Do the towels come out automatically or does the user pull them?
Towel dispensing is manual, the user pulls the towel. The hand dryer is the automatic part of the unit. So there is no sensor or battery on the towel side to maintain, which is one less failure point for a maintenance department.
