Bobrick 39003-31 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Bobrick B-39003-31 the whole towel dispenser unit or just the trash bin?
Just the bin. The B-39003-31 is the removable molded plastic waste container that drops into the Bobrick B-39003 recessed folded paper towel dispenser and waste receptacle cabinet. If you need the cabinet, door, locks and towel tray, you want the complete B-39003 unit instead. Order the -31 when the original container is cracked, leaking or missing and the stainless cabinet is still good.
2) What size is the Bobrick B-39003-31 replacement waste container?
It is rated at a minimum 12 gallon (45.4 L) capacity, which is the same volume the B-39003 cabinet was built around. Size your can liners to a 12 gallon bin.
3) Will the B-39003-31 container fit any other Bobrick recessed towel dispenser cabinet?
Treat it as specific to the B-39003. The container is furnished for that cabinet, and Bobrick assigns a separate part number to the liner in each receptacle model, so match the -31 to a B-39003 rather than assuming it drops into another recessed unit.
4) Do I need to pull the B-39003 cabinet off the wall to change the waste container?
No. The container is removable and services through the hinged door. The door is secured with a full-length concealed piano hinge and two tumbler locks, so open it with your Bobrick key, lift the old container out and set the new one in. The cabinet stays recessed in the wall.
5) Can I standardize keys and spare bins across a building with Bobrick B-39003 units?
Yes on both counts. The B-39003 cabinets ship with tumbler locks keyed like other Bobrick washroom accessories, so one key services the fleet, and the B-39003-31 container is the single stocking item to keep on the shelf for every one of those cabinets. It is a common MRO spare because the plastic bin is the part that takes the abuse, not the welded stainless cabinet.
6) Is the Bobrick B-39003-31 plastic or stainless steel?
Plastic. The container itself is rigid molded plastic and leakproof, which is what keeps liquid out of the cabinet. The surrounding B-39003 cabinet and door are Type-304 stainless steel with a satin finish, but the bin you are ordering here is the plastic insert.
