The JSBH200 is 18-8 stainless, an austenitic alloy suited to general atmospheric corrosion resistance, which is why these show up on chemical and food-processing equipment. For salt spray, pool chemistry, or aggressive chemical exposure, 18-8 is the lighter-duty choice and 316 stainless is the grade to specify instead.

Metallics lists the JSBH200 as both ARRA compliant and Buy American compliant, which is what a government, school, or healthcare procurement file usually needs on a fastener line item. Country of origin is listed as multiple, so if your contract requires a single named origin, confirm the origin on the lot you receive.

Tensile runs 100,000 to 150,000 psi minimum with 65,000 psi minimum yield, and hardness is Rockwell B95 to C32. That puts stainless in the same broad territory as a medium-strength carbon bolt, but it is not a substitute for a Grade 8 structural fastener. You are buying it for corrosion resistance first. Stainless also galls when run dry into stainless threads, so use anti-seize on tightening.

They come in a jar of 100, and 100 count is the order minimum. The jar is a shop-shelf package rather than a bulk box, so it suits a service van or a maintenance crib. Packed jar weight is 585 g. Other sizes and quantities can be requested.

It is a hex head bolt in the SBHC and JSBHC family, and Metallics describes the 18-8 and 316 stainless items in this range as cap screws. Practically, a short fully threaded hex bolt and a hex cap screw are used interchangeably for bolting into tapped holes or through brackets with a nut. What you do not get here is a socket head or a flange, so if the drawing calls for a socket cap screw with an Allen drive, this hex head is not a drop-in for that.
