Metallics UBG014 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread size is the Metallics UBG014 U-bolt, and do nuts come with it?
The UBG014 is a 5/16-18 U-bolt, so it takes a standard 5/16-18 nut, and nuts are included with the bolts. It is sold as a bag of 10.
2) What size pipe or conduit will a 5/16-18 x 2-11/16 x 2 U-bolt wrap?
The UBG014 measures 2-11/16 x 2 inches, so the opening between the legs is what you size against the outside diameter of whatever you are clamping. Measure the OD of your conduit or pipe run and compare it to the 2 inch figure; anything larger than the U's inside clearance will not seat.
3) Is the Metallics UBG014 sold individually or in a pack?
It ships as a bag of 10 U-bolts with nuts, which is the usual way this fastener is bought for a run of conduit or pipe supports rather than a single hanger.
4) Do I need to order nuts separately for the Metallics UBG014 U-bolts?
No. Nuts are supplied with the UBG014 U-bolts, so the only other parts you may need are a backing plate or strap and whatever anchors your channel or structure requires.
5) What is the Metallics part number for the 5/16-18 x 2-11/16 x 2 U-bolt with nuts?
Order it as Metallics UBG014. That part number covers the 5/16-18 U-bolt with nuts, bagged 10 per pack.
