The MBR150WS is a 1-1/2 inch bridle ring, so the ring opening is sized to carry low voltage cable bundles up to that 1-1/2 inch diameter. Size the ring to the finished bundle, not the single cable run, and leave room if you expect to add drops later.

It is the wood screw version (WS), so the shank threads directly into wood members such as studs, joists, or blocking without a separate anchor. For steel studs, concrete, or threaded rod applications you need a bridle ring with a machine screw or threaded shank instead, not this one.

Construction is steel with a zinc plating, which is a dry interior finish. Zinc plated steel is fine for commercial interior cable support above ceilings and in walls, but for wet, exterior, or corrosive locations you want a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead.

A bridle ring is a closed loop on a screw shank, so the cable is captured and cannot jump out, which suits short runs, vertical drops, and tight spots where you are fastening into wood framing. J-hooks are open and carry wider bundles with a larger bend radius surface, so they are the better choice for long horizontal backbone runs with heavy bundle counts.
