Metallics MBR200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size cable bundle does the Metallics MBR200 bridle ring hold?
The MBR200 is a 2 inch bridle ring, so the ring opening carries low voltage cable bundles up to roughly 2 inches in diameter. Low voltage installers use these to support communications and data runs above ceilings where cable does not need to be in raceway.
2) Can I use the Metallics MBR200 bridle ring to support electrical power conduit or NM cable?
No. A 2 inch bridle ring like the MBR200 is a cable support for low voltage communications, data, and coax bundles. Power wiring methods such as conduit, MC, or NM cable require their own listed straps, hangers, or clamps sized to the raceway or cable, not a bridle ring.
3) How many bridle rings come in a bag of Metallics MBR200?
They ship 10 to a bag. The MBR200 is packaged as a bag item, which is how most electrical contractors buy them since a single ceiling run uses a ring every few feet.
4) Is the Metallics MBR200 bridle ring corrosion resistant for use above a ceiling?
It is zinc plated steel, which handles normal dry interior ceiling and plenum space conditions. For wet, exterior, or corrosive environments, a zinc plated steel ring is not the right choice and you should look at a stainless option instead.
