Cahaba CCLTW04ORB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Cahaba CCLTW04 a wall mount or a deck mount tub filler?
It mounts on the tub wall, not on the tub deck and not on the floor. The body projects 6-1/2 in. out from the wall and stands 12 in. tall overall, with a 9 in. width across the trim, so allow that clearance behind and above the tub rim before you set the valve rough-in.
2) Do I need to order supply lines separately for the Cahaba CCLTW04?
Mounting hardware comes in the box, but for an exposed clawfoot or freestanding tub installation Cahaba specifies the Double Offset Bath Supply Lines, model CCLDOSLORB, used with this faucet. Order those as a separate line item.
3) What flow rate does the CCLTW04 deliver at the spout versus the handshower?
The tub spout runs 3.68 GPM and the handshower 2.5 GPM. The high spout rate is what fills a deep traditional tub in reasonable time; the handshower is held to the lower rate typical of shower outlets. Worth checking against local flow restrictions if you are specifying for a multi-family or hospitality project.
4) Is the handshower hose on the Cahaba CCLTW04 long enough to reach into the tub?
The telephone-style handshower comes on a 60 in. hose and sits in its own cradle on the faucet body, so it reaches the far end of a standard tub for rinsing or bathing a child or pet. The handshower carries porcelain accents to match the handles.
5) What finishes is the Cahaba CCLTW04 tub faucet available in?
Three: oil rubbed bronze, polished brass, and satin nickel. Polished brass and oil rubbed bronze suit traditional and period bath packages; satin nickel is the easier match if the rest of the bath trim is brushed. Pick the one that matches the existing tub drain and supply lines, since the supplies are ordered separately.
6) Is the Cahaba gooseneck tub filler durable enough for rental or hospitality use?
The body is solid brass rather than zinc or plastic, and the valves use ceramic disc cartridges, which is the construction that holds up to repeated cycling and hard water better than compression washers. It is a two-handle faucet with lever handles, porcelain and labeled hot and cold, so tenants and guests read it without instruction.
7) Does the CCLTW04 use two handles or a single lever mixer?
Two handles, one hot and one cold, in a porcelain lever style. There is no single-lever mixing cartridge, so the user sets temperature by balancing both sides. That is the normal arrangement for a period-style tub filler but it is not an ADA-style single-lever control.
8) How heavy is the Cahaba CCLTW04 and will the tub wall support it?
The faucet weighs 9 lbs. assembled. On a solid brass wall-mount filler that weight hangs off the two valve bodies, so the stub-outs need to be properly braced in the wall or on the tub ledge rather than relying on the escutcheons.
