Cahaba CA631002 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the Cahaba CA631002 Dima tub filler in an apartment building or hotel?
No. The Dima freestanding waterfall tub faucet is rated for residential use only, so it should not be specified for commercial or hospitality projects. For multi-family work, check with your spec before using it even in individual units.
2) How tall does the Cahaba Dima freestanding tub faucet stand, and will it clear the rim of a freestanding tub?
It stands 39 inches tall, with a footprint of 8 inches wide by 8-11/16 inches deep. That height clears the rim of typical freestanding soaking tubs, but measure from your finished floor to the tub rim and confirm the spout reaches over it at the spot you plan to rough in the floor supply.
3) Is this a floor mount faucet or does it mount on the tub deck?
Floor mount. The Dima is a freestanding tub filler that rises from the floor, so it needs floor rough-in supplies, not a deck-mounted or wall-mounted connection. Mounting hardware is supplied with the faucet.
4) What flow rate should I plan for on the Cahaba CA631002, and will my supply keep up?
The spout flows 3.91 GPM and the handshower 1.64 GPM. A tub filler at nearly 4 GPM wants full 1/2 inch supplies with good pressure if you want a fast fill; undersized or long runs will drop that figure noticeably.
5) Does the Cahaba Dima tub faucet come with a handshower, or do I buy that separately?
The handshower is included, along with a 5 ft hose. A lever handle diverter on the body switches flow between the waterfall spout and the handshower, so there is no separate diverter valve to buy.
6) Is the Cahaba Dima made of brass or is it plated plastic?
Solid brass construction with a polished chrome finish. It weighs 12.4 lbs, which is consistent with a brass body rather than a plated zinc or plastic shell, and it uses a ceramic disc valve cartridge.
7) How do you control temperature on a single handle freestanding tub filler like this?
One lever handle mixes hot and cold and controls volume; a second lever acts as the diverter to the handshower. There is no separate hot and cold handle, so both supplies land at the single ceramic disc valve inside the column.
8) What finish does the Dima freestanding tub faucet come in?
Polished chrome only, in the silver color family. If the rest of the bath is specified in brushed nickel or matte black, this one will not match.
