Camden 3" Magnetic Door Holder Extension Bar

The CX-95S-DH magnetic door holder is designed for virtually any remote door release application. The UL-listed magnetic door holder controls the release and closing of commercial and public area doors, ideal for use in apartment buildings, schools, hotels, hospitals, and offices. Fail-safe operation, tri-volt coils, and an adjustable armature plate allow for easy and flexible installation. Camden magnetic door holders may be surface or flush mounted (CX-95S-DH), or floor mounted (CX-95S-DH-FL), with all mounting hardware included in the kit. Optional extension bars are also available.

1) How do I know whether I need the 3 inch or the 7 inch Camden door holder extension bar?
Camden makes the bar in two lengths, the CX-95S-3E at 3 inches and the CX-95S-7E at 7 inches. Measure the gap between the wall face where the holder mounts and the armature plate on the door when the door is held fully open, then pick the bar that closes it. The holder's armature plate adjusts for door alignment, so the bar handles the standoff distance and the plate handles the angle. If your gap is more than a few inches, go to the 7 inch bar rather than trying to make the 3 inch reach.
2) Does the Camden CX-95S-3E come with a magnetic door holder, or is it sold separately?
Sold on its own. The CX-95S-3E is just the 3 inch extension bar. The magnet, coil, and armature plate come in the holder kit, either the CX-95S-DH for surface or flush mounting or the CX-95S-DH-FL for floor mounting, and mounting hardware is included with that kit. If you're doing a new install, order the holder plus the bar; if you're fixing reach on a holder already on the wall, the bar alone is what you need.
3) Is the Camden CX-95S-3E extension bar rated for commercial buildings?
Commercial duty. The CX-95S magnetic door holder line is built for apartment buildings, schools, hotels, hospitals, and offices, and the 3 inch extension bar is the accessory for those same installs.
