1) What is the difference between the Carlon FSC-12 and FSC-34 device boxes?
The trade size of the hub openings. FSC-12 takes 1/2 inch conduit, FSC-34 takes 3/4 inch. Everything else is the same box: 16 cubic inch non-metallic phenolic single gang device box in black. Pick the one that matches the conduit you are running; adapting down from 3/4 to 1/2 on site means extra reducing bushings.
2) How many conductors can I legally put in a 16 cubic inch outlet box?
The Carlon FSC phenolic device box is rated 16 cubic inches, which is the number you use for NEC box fill. At 2.00 cubic inches per 14 AWG conductor that is 8 conductors, or 6 conductors at 2.25 cubic inches each for 12 AWG, before you deduct for the device, clamps and grounds. A single receptacle counts as two conductor volumes at the largest conductor size in the box.
3) Does the Carlon FSC box come with knockouts?
No. The FSC device box has zero knockouts, so the box arrives with no pre-punched openings beyond its threaded trade-size hubs. Plan your entries around the hub configuration rather than expecting to pop a side knockout on the job.
4) Is the Carlon FSC non-metallic device box UL listed for inspection sign-off?

Yes. It is a single gang device box, so it accepts one standard-size wiring device, a duplex receptacle or a single switch, with a matching single gang FS-style cover. It will not take a two-gang device plate.
7) Does the FSC box come with a cover?
The box is sold as the device box body only. You order the FS-style single gang cover separately, chosen for the device you are mounting (duplex receptacle, toggle switch, or blank), along with the gasket if the location calls for one.
