1) Can I use the Carlon LN20 connector outdoors or in a wet location?
Yes. The LN20 is a liquid-tight fitting intended for wet location and outdoor electrical connections, and it seals against moisture and environmental contaminants where the conduit enters the enclosure. The non-metallic body also resists corrosion, which is the usual reason it gets specified over a die-cast or steel fitting on exterior and washdown work.
2) Will the LN20FA thread into a 1 inch knockout on an enclosure?
Yes. The LN20FA is the 1 inch trade size with 11-1/2 threads per inch NPT, which is the standard thread for a 1 inch hub or knockout, so it threads straight in with a locknut and sealing washer on standard sheet-metal enclosures. For 3/4 inch openings, order the LN20EA instead.
3) Why use a 90-degree liquid-tight connector instead of a straight one?
A 90 lets you turn the conduit immediately at the enclosure, which is what you want when the box sits tight to a wall, a curb, or a piece of equipment and a straight fitting would need several inches of sweep behind it. The LN20 is a fixed 90, so the direction of the turn is set by how you orient the body when you thread it in. If you have clearance to make the bend in the flex itself, a straight connector is the simpler choice.
4) Is the Carlon LN20 non-metallic connector electrically conductive, and do I still need a ground?
The LN20 body is non-metallic, so it provides electrical isolation rather than continuity. It will not carry an equipment grounding path the way a metallic fitting on metal flex can, so your grounding conductor has to be run through the raceway with the circuit conductors.
5) Can I use the Carlon LN20 to replace a corroded metal liquid-tight connector on exterior equipment?

Match the trade size to the existing fitting and the flex, and remember the non-metallic body breaks bonding continuity, so confirm a grounding conductor is present in the run.
