1) What trade sizes do the Carlon LT20 liquid-tight 90-degree connectors come in?
Two trade sizes: 1/2 inch (LT20D) and 3/4 inch (LT20E). Match the connector trade size to the Carflex conduit trade size you are running, not to the box opening.
2) Will a Carlon LT20 connector work on metallic liquidtight flexible conduit?
No. The LT20 is built for Carflex conduit and Carflex X-Flex conduit, both non-metallic liquidtight flexible conduit. For metallic liquidtight (LFMC), you need a fitting designed for that conduit type instead.
3) Is the Carlon LT20 body metal or plastic, and does that matter for grounding?
The body is non-metallic, so it does not carry a bond path. Any equipment grounding conductor has to be pulled through the conduit and terminated at the box and the equipment. The upside of the non-metallic body is corrosion resistance in wet and washdown locations.
4) Why use a 90-degree liquidtight connector instead of a straight one?
A 90 turns the run right at the enclosure, so you can drop into a box that sits tight against a wall, a ceiling, or the side of a unit without forcing a bend radius in the conduit itself. Straight connectors need clearance in line with the hub. If you have room to sweep the Carflex, a straight fitting is the cheaper, simpler choice; if you do not, the 90 saves the install.

Yes, outdoor electrical connections are one of its stated uses. The liquid-tight design seals against moisture and dust, and the non-metallic body will not rust at the fitting the way a plated steel connector can. The sealing gland has to be tightened onto the Carflex to make the seal.
