Metallics SWLS910 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is Metallics SWLS910 ceiling wire and how is it packaged?
SWLS910 is ceiling support wire cut to 10 foot lengths, pretied with no loop on the end, and sold 100 pieces to a pack. It ships as a reel pack.
2) Does the Metallics SWLS910 ceiling wire come with a pre-formed loop on the end?
No. The SWLS910 is the no-loop version, pretied but with no loop formed at the end, so you tie off to your anchor or deck attachment yourself. If you want a wire that comes with a loop already formed for hooking onto hardware, you need a looped ceiling wire instead.
3) Is the SWLS910 the right length for a typical plenum drop above a suspended ceiling?
At 10 feet per wire it covers deep plenums and long drops from structure down to grid or to conduit and fixture hangers. For short drops you can cut back the excess, but if most of your runs are only a couple of feet the 10 foot length is more wire than the job needs and a shorter pretied length is the more economical pick.
