Metallics SWL1212 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many pieces come in a pack of Metallics SWL1212 ceiling wire?
The SWL1212 is sold 100 pieces to the pack, each wire cut to 12 feet with a single loop already tied at one end. That quantity is sized for a full lighting or duct hanging run, so a crew isn't cutting and looping wire on the lift.
2) Is the loop on this 12 ft ceiling support wire already tied, or do I tie it on site?
Pretied. Each 12 foot length of the Metallics SWL1212 comes with a single loop formed at one end, so the installer only has to wrap and twist the free end at the fixture or hanger. That's the difference between this and plain spooled hanger wire you cut and loop yourself.
3) What is the part number to order Metallics pretied ceiling wire in 12 foot lengths?
Order Metallics SWL1212. The designation breaks down to a single-loop ceiling wire in a 12 foot length, packed 100.
4) Does Metallics ceiling wire ship as a coil of loose pieces or on a reel?
The SWL1212 pack type is a reel, with the 100 pretied 12 foot wires carried on it. Handy on a jobsite because the wires pull off one at a time instead of tangling in a box.
