Metallics SWL1612 Ceiling Wire 16' Sgl Loop Pretied (100)

The SWL1612 is a 16 foot ceiling support wire supplied in a quantity of 100 pieces. Each wire is pre-tied with a single loop on one end, so it comes ready to hang rather than needing to be cut and twisted on site.

Pre-tied means the loop at one end is already formed at the factory, so an installer hooks it over the anchor or clip and only has to tie off the bottom end. Bulk coil wire has to be measured, cut, and looped by hand at both ends. On a large ceiling grid or hanger layout where you are setting dozens of drops, the pre-tied SWL1612 cuts the labor per drop; bulk coil is the better buy when your drop lengths vary a lot and 16 feet would mean cutting most of it off.

The SWL1612 is a fixed 16 foot length, so on a shallow plenum you will have significant excess to wrap off or trim at each drop. It suits tall bar joist and deck-to-grid drops where the distance from structure to ceiling is long. For short drops, a shorter pre-tied length in the same ceiling wire family is the cleaner order.

Reel. The pack type on the SWL1612 is a reel, which keeps the 100 pre-tied 16 foot wires paid out cleanly instead of tangling in a loose carton. Useful when a crew is pulling wires one at a time off a cart down a run of grid.
